£12k in donations for charity appeal to support Sean Rice’s wife
The Canadian ice skater – who took part in the ITV skating competition from 2011 to 2012 as a professional teacher – tragically passed away last Friday.
She said: “Pro skaters are heartbroken today, we lost a true larger than life great – an epic skater, a husband, father, and my friend of 20 years.”
“Gone too soon, but we will love you for a thousand years,” she concluded the emotional post – as fans flooded the comments to share their heartbreak.
Soon after, a friend set up a fundraiser to help Sean’s wife Jodeyne Higgins, who he won bronze in the Canadian pairs championships with, and daughter Signey.
The emotional description on the page on GoFundMe describes the late skater “a great man, a coach, son, friend, husband and popa bear”.
